I get the same excitement from working on the design of a new leather accessory as I do from composing a new piece of music.
In both cases, I enjoy how a simple idea can be elaborated on - how each step you take towards its completion is like the stroke of a painter's brush, leaving you with a finished piece oftentimes far beyond what you may have originally imagined.
I am particularly interested in working with vegetable tanned leather. This kind of leather comes like a blank canvas...the light tan color it comes in originally can be dyed and manipulated, by hand, into unique finishes. It's rigid nature leaves it open for the possibility of being moulded, and marked by various means.
When I am not at the Design studio, I am often at the Music studio. I freelance as an independent music professional- a Composer, Performer, Producer, and Teacher.
