About

Welcome to Skirting the Tissue! Welcome to my obsession! I ship internationally-just inquire.
I go to estate and vintage sales and search the most off the beaten path places to find some very unique items! My items come from many states.
I also go to thrift shops in Manhattan to get some very cool awesome retro and mod items-I really dig through things and am very selective.

Besides my original tissue stand skirts, I sell vintage clothing and accessories, vintage handmade items and vintage how to books, patterns and supplies.

I love elegance. I was born in the late '50's. I love the styles of the 50's and 60's. I didn't have much growing up but I had a mother who knew elegance. I love elegance. I was born in the late '50's. I love the styles of the 50's and 60's. I didn't have much growing up but I had a mother who knew elegance. I would sew her evening gowns which she wore to dinner dances at our church. I would watch her put on her shiny disc clip-on earrings (and after she was gone my siblings and I played tiddly winks with her other earrings!) I loved the shoes, the jewelry and the colognes.

So I love fashion-I sewed all of my clothes and was in 4 -H where we had dress revues and I would have to write up all of the descriptions of the outfits

My siblings and I used to dress up anything we could get our hands on around the house-inside and out. Our favorite winter fun was dressing up our staircase newel post to make it look like a person ~ scarves, sunglasses and all!

So that is the reason I made a skirt for my toilet paper stand!
Another example of my wild imagination!
