Welcome to my shop!

What a year it has been! While it presented some major challenges, I have moved forward with renewed hope and creativity! I'm excited to see what 2017 has in store - I like the number, it sounds promising!

It is quite an eye opener to realize just how much creativity and potential we human beings have! Often through necessity, or by fluke, we learn so much, whether intellectually or creatively. My friends always comment on how 'creative' I am. Trust me when I tell you, this is more of a surprise to me than anyone!

Try to allow your thoughts to flow freely - "can't" is a disabling word - always try. You just may be pleasantly surprised at what you can do!

The abstract drawings are definitely a new journey for me and I enjoy creating them so much! The intense heat and humidity of the summer, prevented me from doing much photography, so I spent many hours indoors, creating abstract drawings and thoroughly enjoyed the process. Also surprised myself in that I had discovered another creative outlet - who knew!

Then one evening, I picked up a piece of wire and started playing with it. This led to a whole new creative avenue - handmade jewellery! So drawing took a back seat for awhile. It's so exciting to take a simple piece of wire and turn it into something functional and beautiful! My jewellery is available on Georgian Bay Treasures - http://www.etsy.com/shop/GeorgianBayTreasures

Photography has always played an important part of my life and a passion since childhood. Life can change in a heartbeat and following several very close losses in a short period of time, my life changed dramatically. It was a very strong message and my love of photography that literally got me out the door and living again.

Wildlife, scenery and flora are my favourites and I am always amazed and inspired by the beauty and many faces of nature. I exhibit in local galleries and community events and enjoy meeting people and sharing stories of particular photographs.

I dabble in acrylic, watercolour and sumi-e painting (Japanese brush painting) and hope to bring more work here in the future.

Georgian Bay Treasures is also my shop, set up to sell jewellery, vintage, Inukshuks, books, etc., a potpourri of goodies! Please drop by when you have a moment - maybe you'll find an old treasure!
