HOW I MAKE THINGS:
I take all the photos you see in my shop. Nothing originates from stock photo, or stolen photos. (Unfortunately, as a seller of Photography on Etsy, it is necessary to clarify this.)

The tools I use include a variety of homemade, toy, and vintage film cameras, and one digital. As well, my preference for expired and rare films lends towards, I feel, a more magical image; and my refrigerator is overflowing with those stores, carefully protected, labeled, and arranged according to type, format, and expiration date.

Apps' or canned effects are never used to make a print, although I do sometimes edit while scanning the negatives, as well as in a photo editing program - every negative I scan at the very least, no matter how carefully I clean, has dust which needs to be digitally removed, though on occasion I leave some or all of it. In addition, since my cameras and film are both old, I get a lot of overexposed or underexposed negative which some might write off as duds. With nothing else to lose I'll often 'adjust the heck out of them' in the scanner in order to pull *something* out which can be used

Other art forms are part of my life, too. I paint, draw and sculpt. Often, my illustrations involve scanning the hand-drawn/painted artwork into the computer where they are then combined with a blend of digital painting and my photography (both digital and scanned film) in order to texturize and create new dimension for the piece. Some of that can be found in this shop.
