"Even the smallest star helps light up the darkness" ~ Finnish proverb

I live beside a lake where the natural beauty of sparkle matters. Sparkle in nature inspires me and creating this effect to share with others makes me happy. :) Much of my work with glass involves manipulating beveled glass into three dimensional shapes which will enliven any environment with twinkling white lights and rainbows.

I grew up as a tomboy, climbing trees, playing in the dirt, bringing home snakes, caterpillars, frogs, fishing in a brook, although I made sure to never hook one... After earning a BSc in Forestry and with wildlife management in mind, I began my career as a forester. Some of the more interesting work I've done over the years involved forest research and protection; horticultural sales; and taxidermy, creating museum skins for research and educational tools.
In the year 2000, my husband and I moved from town to the country, built a rather rustic home on a lake, and SNL Creations became a reality for me.
Today, I am a full time stained glass artisan, mum to an amazing boy and married to a mighty fine fellow.
I enjoy family time; adventures with my dog; listening to the sounds of crashing waves, babbling brooks and the silence of winter. I love to gaze at the stars, I'm fascinated by shapes and forms emerging from a campfire and I'm easily mesmerized by the twinkle and sparkle of shimmering lights on water. I adore critters of all type and temperament. For me, the earthy smells of a damp forest floor and sweet smells of fresh lilac and apple blossoms create a pause in my thoughts and I breathe deeply; I'd never say "no" to a good cup of tea and some good conversation; and I could sit and eat fresh salad and salsa until the cows come home....
Nature continues to be my greatest teacher and my source for inspiration.
I'm passionate about decorating and I love to learn and try new things.
SNL Creations is not just a full time job for me but indeed, a full time passion.
Thanks so much for your interest. I'm glad you've stopped by!
