Show some love and support independent artists and small businesses! Welcome to the home of the original patchwork quilted gig bags. Here's a little story about how I started sewing. I have had a sewing needle in my hand as long as I can remember. Both my Mom and Bama (grandma) sewed- a lot. I remember them staying up late nights working on sewing clothes so we could have a new outfit. While they would sew my grandma would give me scraps of fabric to sew doll clothes and pillows. Reading patterns, creating patterns etc. Mom let me use a machine, and when I would break it or jam it up I'd have to play mechanic and take it apart, and fix it and put it back together. This has also proved handy lol. So I started to sew my own clothes! Some super dorky outfits.....In the early 2000's I had a dusty guitar....so I made it a case out of a sleeping bag and some scraps of fabric. Someone wanted to buy it!!! Some super dorky outfits.....In the early 2000's I had a dusty guitar....so I made it a case out of a sleeping bag and some scraps of fabric. Someone wanted to buy it!!! So I just made another...and it kept going like that! at this point I have made over 300...I'm constantly creating and thinking up new ideas for projects and have the scatterbrain of creational organization. I am also a full time seamstress at my little store shakedown st in sunny Guerneville, CA where all these goodies are made by me!
I am inspired with turning something old into something new. Most of the gig bags are made from recycled sleeping bags, and found fabrics. Other random goodies are also inspired from looking at what I got laying around here and seeing what I can make out of it! Any custom orders are always welcome. I will also work out trades of equal energy exchanges.

Wholesale pricing is available, you can email me at sophiaworksf8 [!at] gmail.com for more information.

I love living my life, and try to focus on the beauty of the glowing candle in the dark room.
