I am an nth-generation Texan; everyone in my lineage has lived in Texas since my family came over from Germany (East Friesia, specifically) before the Civil War. So I'm quite steeped in Southern culture, especially Texan! I am now raising my own little southerners, two sweet boys, whose presence necessitated me finding a career that allowed me to work at home, so I can be with my children when they need me. I have an art degree, an obsession with yarn crafts, and a network of contact in the fiber community, so dyed craft materials it is!

As for the mystic part ... My other degree is in religion. I am fascinated with spiritual expression. I think there is a deep spiritualism within home crafts, working with color, and spinning especially.
