Queens Metal is created by artist Krista DeJoseph. Dividing her time between her two favorite coasts --- the bright lights of New York City on the East Coast and the swampy, steamy heat of New Orleans in the Gulf Coast -- Krista finds inspiration in everything from the Manhattan skyline to the parades and festivals of NOLA.

Krista's love for jewelry began in elementary school, when she was given a pair of miniature fork and spoon earrings. She's been obsessed ever since. Krista is trained in metalsmithing and lost wax carving techniques.

Queens Metal is an emerging brand with a rapidly-growing base of devotees. The company began with a single design, a necklace created to raise funds for a scholarship. Within a few months, hundreds of necklaces were sold to customers around the world. Today, Queens Metal pieces are easily recognizable for their incorporation of a variety of metals, and fusion of the industrial with the organic.

Queens Metal is committed to supporting the individuals and not-for-profit organizations who work to make the world a better place. The company was born out of this belief, launching with the creation of the “Koru” pendant to raise funds for the Kevin Maher Memorial Scholarship. Since 2006, Queens Metal has given more than $15,000 in financial and in-kind contributions to grassroots not-for-profit organizations that support the empowerment and well-being of women, including Dress for Success, Girls Write Now, and Ophelia's Place.
