Squirrelnuts is where you will find American and European stampings which were designed by highly trained artisans as early as 1839. The pieces are struck, or formed, directly from the original steel die that was used to create them back in the day. As a result, these pieces have the same sharp detail the craftsman intended and capture the spirit of an era gone by.

Many of the companies that produced these stampings have folded or have been absorbed by larger companies that produce only a fraction of the line. Most of my collection came from companies while they were still in operation in the 1980s and 1990s.

You will find pieces in my shop that are well over 30 years old, while others have been "newly" struck within the last 20 years. Every stamping is made with raw, pure brass-using yellow brass, red brass or silicon brass depending on the origin and the needs of the specific item when being manufactured.
