I grew up under a quilting frame in southern Germany, yet another member in a long line of crafters. Growing up I was surrounded by my mom's quilts, my father's stained glass and woodworking projects, my grandfather's jewelery and antique watches, knitted doo-dads, and toille painted cutting boards. It's a legacy of creating handmade things.

After our first son Burke passed away, just five days after his birth in April 2007, I fell back into knitting and sewing as part of the grieving process. I continued through the pregnancy with our second son, welcomed earthside in June 2008. With the gentle nudging from friends and family, I decided to open up shop in July 2008 to sell what I make.

This shop is dedicated to Burke's short life, and as a reminder to to take heart and make the most of the time we are given. And dedicated to all…
