Karen Lutz's Profile

About

After many years working as an artist and entrepreneur in the Southeast and loving it all so much....(my clients, my helpers, and my peers, the creation and design process, the COLORS!), I'm now hopelessly in love with my grandchildren and learning something new. Maybe not so new, but like my art work....layers of color and texture, I'm learning about the many layers of family, play, and just being in the presence of another. It is exceedingly rewarding and in this time with the little ones I'm finding the kid I was many years ago...and still am! Memories of building forts, tying knots, playing with crayons and paint, feeding the animals and birds on the farm, picking berries, climbing trees and playing games in my tree house. That's what it's all about...and where we return in those moments of joyful reverie, blissful freedom. Being a child:)

I hope you'll enjoy my shoppe and stroll down memory…

I hope you'll enjoy my shoppe and stroll down memory lane. Nostalgic memories of hopscotch and tic tac toe, vintage memories of dolls and teapots, holiday memories of good times with siblings and coloring books.

You'll find things here to share with your children/grandchildren, friends and loved ones, things that teach and inspire, build confidence and create laughter....and memories of the best kind! Remember?

A naturalist at heart, Karen Lutz heightens our awareness of nature through the artwork she creates, and designs she promotes. Living, working and traveling around the world she has developed an affinity for layering and mixing colors and textures to create the most beautiful finishes and decorative art.

"As a child I played and found joy in the deep forested woods of my backyard and the glorious beaches in my front yard. It was vibrant color and luscious textures that nurtured and helped me understand the harmony of things". Using this knowledge I enjoy creating unique pieces of art that speak to the viewer in a personal way. – art that calms or stimulates, yet inspires".

Karen is known for her beautiful faux finishes and decorative art created in homes and businesses throughout the Southeast since 1996. She was honored by HOUSE & Garden Magazine as Designers' BEST in Atlanta in 2007, participated in a Before/After segment of HGTV, and provided CBS News and the Atlanta Symphony Show House among other organizations and celebrities with her unique and organic, natural style of art . She now envisions sharing her love of nature, color and texture with a wider audience.
