In 1995 I became intimately connected to the Chinese culture when we adopted our daughter from China. She was born in the year of the Pig. We have since added to our family with a daughter born year of the Tiger and a daughter born year of the Horse. These wonderful animals provided a fun way for our us to weave Chinese culture and the annual new year celebration into our home.

As an illustrator and designer I love creating beautiful things with my hands and couldn't help but get caught up with the possibilities surrounding the images these happy creatures presented.

StillwaterArtStudio and my etsy store evolved (and continue to evolve) out of the shear enjoyment of creating and sharing these images in the form of cards, prints and now linens.
