My business, StolenJewels, was inspired by an unfortunate incident which occurred a few days after Thanksgiving in 2007. I returned home from a dentist appointment for my three children and learned that ALL my precious jewelry had been stolen. I was devastated since each piece had great sentimental value to me.
Since I had no jewelry left to wear I began making pieces with similar colors and styles of those I once owned. Making the jewelry was extremely therapeutic. So I continued making pieces until I had more than I could wear and then with encouragement from friends and family began selling pieces.
I also started taking jewelry classes: dichroic glass, precious metal clay and now enamel. I absolutely love discovering new jewelry making techniques and styles and learning to work with new mediums. Who knew that such a terrible experience…
