I have lived on a 78-acre horse farm in Carlisle, KY, with my husband for the past 16 years. For 10 of those years we have been involved with the ReRun program which allows us to adopt race horses after their tournament days are over. Currently we have five horses that we take trail riding on the weekends.
My journey into the quilting world started when I discovered two bags of hand-sewn blocks that my great-grandmother had made. I decided to use these blocks to create heirloom quilts for my daughters and in the process became inspired to continue with this craft for the pure joy it has brought me. Quilting has allowed me to combine my passion for horses with my love for family heirlooms and antiques.
I sew all of my quilts on our dining room table using a combination of machine and hand-sewn techniques, including the cutting and hand-knotting…
