Hi! I live in Southwestern Michigan, near the "big lake." Wearable art has always been my passion to create and then, to wear! Helping others explore art and "find" their own creativity is my passion. I'm blessed to teach at local art centers and our community college, Southwestern Michigan College. My art students are fantastic! My art is inspired by local beauty~Lake Michigan beaches, sunsets, and my fern gardens. My creativity flourishes amidst this landscape. In the summer, my pottery wheel is outside so I can watch the butterflies dance in my gardens. Highlights in my career include helping Jun Kaneko when he presented at WMU and talking with Paul Solder when he came to Notre Dame.

Favorite materials

My favorite materials are found objects from Lake Michigan, shells, beach glass, and driftwood that I rescued from the seashore, I also work with Frost Porcelain clay from Laguna

I only use the very best clay in my pottery line. Firing the kiln is intuitive, and I look for the fluid, fun, loose, and spectacular play of colors in my glazes. Often, my work is fired numerous times to accentuate the power of the kiln. Firing the kiln is dramatic and truly a gift when opening.
