Dan and Char went to Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois. They moved to Rushville, Illinois and started their pottery in 1985.
My main objective for Dan as a potter has been in the area of functional ceramics. WE truly enjoy cooking and making pottery to be used in the cooking process. Good form, and good functionality are very important to my work. I have been sliptrailing, carving, inlaying and experimenting with wax resist application as decorative elements in my work. Works are fired to stoneware temperatures in a propane fired kiln approximately 35 cubic feet. Char specializes in whimsical items.They are one of a kind.Fun no one will have one like it.
