About

As a child I had no aspirations to become an artist of any kind. I wanted most to be Pocahontas riding the plains, bareback on a pinto,in a fringed rawhide dress with beading. As reality set in, I found myself at a total loss but freedom was always a priority. I find the 9-5 routine to be stifling and repressive, although I do it, as so many of you do.

As a child I was enchanted by shiny things, sequins, beads, glitter and rhinestones, it didn't take long to discover glass filled my need for color and glistening light.

In the 70's stained glass became the rage, I guess after "A Star Is Born", with so many beautiful windows in their romantic desert home.

I fell in love with a lamp I could ill afford and so I went to school at "The Museums At Stoneybrook" to learn to build my own; I immediately loved it. The piece changed with each step, always providing a surprise so that I couldn't wait for the next. For many years following, my family ate glass and lead as I worked feverishly in every corner of our home. I showed alot and sold through boutiques and found my freedom!

In 1984 my home was flooded, all was lost and rebuilding became a priority, my husband got sick and passed on and it's only in recent years that I have had the opportunity to go back to my love of creating in glass.

Since then, I've moved to the Historic District in Chattanooga, TN, an area of beautiful old Victorians, in need of new stained glass windows.

I try to do only challenging pieces now, aside from the smaller 3-D items I sell mostly. Each piece is a surprise, and only one of a kind. Glass enchants and mesmerizes as it glistens in the light and throws rainbows across the room. The subtle shades bring warmth and character to a room as well as privacy. It is a special medium and a lasting heirloom.

My other joys in life besides family and friends include my morning coffee, pets, gardening, riding and dressage, quilting and chilling at the beach.
