Shelby Foxwell's Profile
I create art jewelry using stones and metal. I began creating jewelry in 2004, with a concentration in wirework. While I still love manipulating wire so that it is smooth and flowing, I have continued to grow as an artist and now also enjoy working with metal, stones, and some enamels. Most pieces are created using sterling silver, however I am also exploring creating more mixed metal pieces. In creating a one of a kind piece of jewelry I use such techniques as coiling, cold connections, soldering, texture, and patinas.
Inspiration for my work is diverse. I am frequently inspired by nature, but inspiration also comes in the form of color and/or texture, a particular stone, or even from other artwork. My goal is to create a unique, comfortable piece of art jewelry using high quality materials.
