LIFE AT THE BEACH

My love of the ocean surrounding me is reflected in the diverse items you will find in my shop. You will find silk paintings, hand painted silk clothing, accessories and pillows. My newest passion is SUP so now I've added women's boardshorts.

When I'm not in my studio painting I'm on my SUP in the ocean. Most of my mornings begin with a 3 mile paddle where I've experienced very quiet and almost ZEN like times and others where I paddle hard on my custom race board..and still others when I'm paddling with the whales and dolphins. When I started paddling I couldn't find any cute women's board shorts SO - whats a gal to do but get to work making them! My shorts are cute, soft and have 4 way stretch AND they are made right here in Southern California!

When I get back on land I head for my studio there I find myself inspired by the colors of the morning ocean and sky. Sometimes brilliant blue and sunny and others muted and grey.

The process of applying dye to silk is almost meditational. Watching the colors flow and combine with another transports me to another place. Sometimes the process seems to have a life of its own as it evolves and changes. I learn something new each time I pick up the brush.
