Susan Stone's Profile
When I started my career as a portrait photographer, I specialized in kids, pets and family black and white and hand-tinted candid images. I spent many hours in my chemical darkroom creating treasured images.
When digital photography arrived on the scene, I came out of the dark and into the world of pixels and possibilities. I said good-by to portrait photography and opened up my creative energies to creating art. Today, I create complex images using all the tools that I have developed through the years. I use digital layers to add texture, color and contrast. All my layers are created from my photos or mixed media paintings. My work is a back and forth process as many of my digital images have layers of my paintings and my paintings may include my digital images.
