Susan Van Atta's Profile

About

My mother taught me how to sew when I was a child. At the time, I never thought much of it. In fact, I thought everyone knew how to sew. It was only until I became an adult and began to teach my own daughter to sew that I realized what a wonderful gift my mother had given me. She sewed the most marvelous things. Her work was meticulous, perfect and downright 'couture'. I haven't the patience or the skill to sew like my mother, but I developed a love of sewing and quilting. Because I don't sew the complicated things that my mother made, working with projects that 'let the fabric do the work' are right up my alley. Here you will find a few of my favorite things. Enjoy, and happy sewing!
