Reducing waste and reusing and recycling seem to be a way of life here in the Pacific Northwest. Things simply thrown into the garbage make me feel guilty so it gives me great pleasure to create plush toys from cast off sweaters that are either past their prime as far as fashion or have too much wear to have much use as an article of clothing. What fun it is to find a bright orange, yellow, blue, grey… cashmere or wool sweater hanging in a thrift store just waiting to come home with me, the possibilities make my heart beat faster, I know, I’m a dork like that.

In July 2011 I quit a job that I had had for 17 years. It was a good job, a steady paycheck and the work was not hard. I walked away from it to pursue being a full time artist. It may not have been the wisest of decisions as far as being responsible go but I have certainly had a lot of fun. I look forward to every new day, knowing I get to sit in my studio and create and dream of creating. It may not last forever but for now I am holding on with both hands and enjoying the ride!

Please take a look around at my creations of art and if you have any questions please ask.
