Teresa Jones' Profile

About

Hi, Teresa Jones here! I create glass beads through a process called lampworking. Glass is heated with an oxygen-propane mix torch to approximately 1600 degrees and then applied to a stainless steel rod and shaped with brass and graphite tools.

Made in the Shade is a small glass studio in Albuquerque New Mexico where I live, work and love!

Made in the Shade is a small glass studio in Albuquerque New Mexico where I live, work and love!

My inspiration comes from the glass colors I play with and the organic colors found in the wide open spaces of the land of enchantment. My work has been described as whimsical, colorful, funky, groovy, unique, and beautiful.

I offer unique lampwork beads, jewelry and usable items. A short list of my creations: Beads, Buttons, Wine Stoppers, Canape Sets, Church Keys, Pens, Hairstix, Knitting Needles, Purse Charms, Cell Phone Charms, and Zipper Pulls.

I also create unique glass and silver jewelry for both black tie and blue jean moods. I am a self-taught glass artist and have been exploring the art of lampworking in my Albuquerque New Mexico studio for the last 9 years.

Please check out my web site to learn more about me and see archives of my art. www.made-inthe-shade.com

I am a Self-Representing Artist (SRA J21).
