I got the nickname Tallulah about 1970, when a friend came over and found me about to step out, dressed up to the nines in some 30's or 40's attire. The name stuck and most of my friends have called me Tallulah ever since.
When I started a small fashion accessory business in 1971, I needed a label. Tallulah was a natural!
I lived in West Hollywood, which was booming with the music scene and great boutiques popping up everywhere. I sold to many of them and also to stores like Georgio's in Beverly Hills.
I had been collecting vintage textiles early on, and my wares consisted of purses, hats, belts and some clothing made from delicious fabrics!
My ex was the drummer for the Grass Roots, and knew lots of people, so he brought over Cher & Diana Ross to my little home studio, and they became just a couple of my private clients. I STILL sell to Cher from…
