I grew up in the country, with a quarter long gravel driveway that I would walk up and down everyday to get to the school bus. Life could get pretty boring when you have no neighbors to play with..As far back as I can remember, I would sit in the driveway and look for 'cool' rocks. Every now and then I would find a "gold nugget"!!! That was always pretty exciting, as I thought that it was really gold! My sister and brother and I would fight over who found these treasures first! It turned out to just be pyrite, but that started my love for rocks and from then on I was hooked.
My parents took me to rock shops around town, where I saw my first Geo, now those were the kind of stones that I really liked! This is about the time that I got into all the different types of crystals. I remember how magical that I thought they felt and that they could somehow give me some grand power! I would love to take a trip out to…

This is about the time that I got into all the different types of crystals. I remember how magical that I thought they felt and that they could somehow give me some grand power! I would love to take a trip out to one of the meteorite sites in the United States to hunt for meteorites as well. Wow, a piece of iron from the universe to your hand! I figured, what better way to have such beautiful stones than to be able to wear them! This was a far better idea than to just keep them in your pocket for no one else to admire.
The International gem and jewelry show goes around the country, with shows in most major cities. It's so interesting to see gemstones and crystals from around the world and country. I of coarse have my favorite venders that I always love to see when they are in town. Now, I know that there is beautiful jewelry made of plastic or glass beads, but I find that jewelry made with real stones and gems last so much longer and hold up so much better than with these other materials. Just think about it, these stones were made from our very own earth, and what an unbelievable process it goes through to be able to produce such beautiful stones that are in so many different colors and shapes, textures and so on.
I want to make these kinds of stone beads available to anyone that admires them as much as I do. I look for the best quality, because it's so hard to see something on a computer monitor and expect it to look exactly the same, and well, it's just really hard to tell what you may get.
I also LOVE antique/victorian/ Art Deco style jewelry! I used to love to go through my grandmother's huge jewelry cases and find the most unique pieces that I'd ever seen. These older styles seem to bring back a nostalgia along with them that is very intriguing to me. My great grandmother had loads of older turquoise jewelry from traveling, that I would admire when I was younger and stayed at her house. She would have pieces so large, that she would make pictures from them and hang them on the walls. At the time, I couldn't believe that she would put glue on her jewelry, but they were truly works of art! I only wish that I had one that I could have hanged in my own home!
