Tammy Honey's Profile
Tammy Honey (b.1973, Cairns) is an Australian artist who makes work about popular culture and memory. She holds a BFA from the University of Tasmania, and has screened and exhibited her work in galleries and museums including the TATE Modern, Gallery of Modern Art Brisbane, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, CAST, Berlin Directors Lounge, FACT, Liverpool, Showroom, Sheffield, SCOPE Art Fair Basel, PAM, and the Dundee Contemporary Arts, Scotland.
She trained as a make-up artist and hairdresser in the early 1990s where she involved herself in film, theatre, corporate and commercial clients. In 1996 she undertook a Diploma of Visual Art at Perth TAFE, Western Australia and worked simultaneously in both fields. Her artwork incorporated video in 2002 and has since produced over 40 examples of screened video art.
