Welcome to T.C. Soap Co. - I’m a mad scientist, who’s studied in botany, to bring you the best skin care on the planet, if you don’t believe me, try it for yourself!

INTRO:
Our soaps are priced fairly.
We use more expensive oils, take our time extracting botanicals, and we get you the essential oils - which cost more than synthetic fragrances. We genuinely care about our environment, and do not use palm oil. We wrap each soap in biodegradable packaging upon order, so it's fresh, and we label them by hand. We make all of the artwork and designs for our soaps. A lot of time and effort is spent to bring you the best possible product. Our bars are also cut fatter and larger than most out there - about twice what you would find at any retail store - so you're getting more soap for your money! Once you feel the foamy suds,…

FAQ:
WHY NO PALM OIL?:
We are proud to be one of the few bath & body, and cold process soap makers, that never uses Palm kernel oil in their products! Due to the palm crisis that is harming orangutans, we will not be using Palm oil - learn more about the crisis here: www.cmzoo.org/conservation/palmOilCrisis . If this issue is important to you steer clear of ingredients listed as : palm oil, palm kernel oil, Elaeis, Attalea maripa and Elaeis Guineensis.

WHAT IS COLD PROCESS SOAP?:
Basically it's an age old method, used for soap making, whereby little to no heat is used. Since it takes little to no energy to produce the soap, it's felt to be a very eco friendly way of production.
To make soap using the cold process method you need an alkali, which can be lye or soda ash, and you need oils. The two are mixed together at the right temperature, stirring until a "trace" is formed, and then poured into a mold. Soap making can be as simple, or as complicated as the soaper wishes. Once the soap is hardened, it is taken out of the molds, cut and set to cure for 1-6 weeks, depending on the formula used.

IF YOU USE LYE HOW CAN IT BE GOOD FOR YOU?:
Once the saponification process is done (1-4 days), the lye is no longer lye and the oils are no longer oils, they are now SOAP! The alkali and oils make a chemical reaction and become something completely different! It's truly amazing! Lye no longer exists in the final product, therefore, cannot harm your skin in any way.

IS LYE VEGAN?:
I've been asked this before, but YES, lye is totally vegan! It's technically called sodium hydroxide or NaOH, it's an acid/alkali - back in the day it was called soda ash or caustic ash, and was made with wood ash.

ISN'T GLYCERIN SOAP BETTER FOR YOUR SKIN?:
Not necessarily. Handmade soap naturally contains a lot of glycerin, this is a byproduct of soap. Commercial soaps often have the glycerin removed, and sell it by it's self – in actuality, these bars can be very drying to your skin! Most bars that are called "glycerin soaps" are actually melt and pour bases containing surfactants (lathering chemicals), fillers and preservatives. My Cold Processed soap contains all the natural glycerin and none of the nasty chemicals – making it a better choice for you, your family and your planet!

WHY DON'T YOU LIST LYE ON YOUR INGREDIENTS LIST FOR SOAPS?:
Simply because lye is no longer in the soap after saponification has taken place (1-5 days) – it would be like listing “cow” on a milk label.

DO YOU MAKE FAVOR OR PARTY SIZED SOAPS?:
I have done this before, if you have something in mind, feel free to contact me.

DO YOU SELL WHOLESALE?:
I do, please contact me for more info.

NATURAL INGREDIENTS:
I use natural, organic, and wild crafted botanicals and essential oils in my body creations, to provide you with their natural goodness and healing qualities. Everything I make is between 98%-100% ALL NATURAL!

FAVORITE INGREDIENTS:
Some ingredients I love to use include, floral waters, plant and tree resins, floral and plant waxes, fruit powders, clays and essential oils.

PRESERVATIVE:
In my lotions I use a safe, paraben and formaldehyde-FREE preservative. I only use a preservative when I absolutely have to, for safety reasons. Natural emulsions that are not preserved correctly can contain a multitude of bacteria and yeast (which can cause staph infection)~ YUCKY! Don’t risk it - these preservatives are perfectly safe!

FRAGRANCE OILS:
In some products I use fragrance oils, they are skin safe, FDA approved and mostly natural oils used only in very small amounts (much less than the safe recommendation).

SENSITIVITIES:
If you are sensitive or allergic to anything, I list all of my ingredients, so make sure to read them before purchasing a product.

VEGAN:
I offer a wide range of products that are safe for Vegans, everything I sell is Vegetarian safe!
Animal products I sometimes use are: milk, milk powders, honey and beeswax – which I list on my labels.
I list ALL of the ingredients so you know what you're getting in a product! I indicate whether something is Vegan or Vegetarian.

ANIMAL TESTING:
Of course I never test on animals, I have a great love and respect for them! I will also never use any ingredients, that to my knowledge, have been tested on animals.

MY HISTORY:
I've been selling my own natural products since 2000.
As a child I grew up learning about plants and flowers, from my grandparents, who ran a blueberry farm and a plant nursery.
Later I attended an agricultural school overseas, where I learned even more about plants, flowers, trees and the natural world in general.
I've also taken Herbalist and Aromatherapy courses. I have a great love for chemistry and have been dubbed the Mad Scientist!

RESEARCH:
I research all of the ingredients so that they apply to the product at hand and are used in safe quantities for topical use. I spend most of my time reading books on Botanicals, chemistry, aroma therapy, soaping and more.

Please contact me with any questions, concerns or product requests.
