_____WHO AM I?_____

I'm a full-time artist based in Greenwich, London. My paintings are based on my ongoing cycle journey around the coast of the UK which I began at Christmas 2005. My photography is two-fold: images from the English coast that were taken as paintings reference material and photos that are part of an ongoing project of water surface images, called WaveMechanics.

I feel like I fit in here on Etsy - so many other creative folk that also seem to be a bit geeky! I'm an artist but have an odd range of other interests from Shakespeare, to mountain biking, crochet, physics, and sci-fi. Am I a girl geek? Yes! And an artist? Absolutely.

_____THE RESUME/CV_____

I studied painting and printmaking privately with Greenwich artist Annette Johnson. This was supplemented with classes at London's City Lit, Morley College, and Blackheath Conservatoire of Music and the Arts.

My work has been exhibited throughout England and is in private collections both here and in the USA, Europe, Australia, Japan and Ireland. Paintings have been shown in many galleries including Stark Gallery, Will's Art Warehouse, Great Expectations, the Dulwich Picture Gallery, New Ashgate Gallery, the National Maritime Museum, and the Mall Galleries with both the Pastel Society and the Royal Society of Marine Artists.

I had the pleasure of participating in art events at the National Maritime Museum including a fundraising auction and a camera obscura project where the public could observe artists using the old camera obscura at the Royal Observatory. My work has also been auctioned, achieving above gallery price, with 100% proceeds going to the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture. In February 2002 I was artist in residence at Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, sponsored by James Baird Gallery in St Johns. My paintings have won awards at the National Maritime Museum, the London City Airport, and honorable mentions at the National Society of Painters Sculptors and Printmakers (of which I am a former member).

I am a listed artist in the UK on the AXIS database of professional artists in the UK (www.axisweb.org.uk), a member of DACS, and the South London Women Artists society.
