"A simple story about simple art born of the heart"

I think my art can best be described as "the art with a heart" because it flows through the core of my heart carrying a healing vibration and essence of love.

My art arose out of the ashes of an inner fire of transformation. After spending many years on an inward spiritual journey of self-discovery, I learned to dive down into the shadows of my past and move through the layers of suppressed emotions and memories which kept me imprisoned in fear. As I continue to release the inner criticizing and self judging I am repeatedly lead to the core of my heart and to a still small voice that I call the child within. This newfound liberation feels much like a caterpillar breaking free from the twisting and turning in a cocoon of darkness. Just as a butterfly is able to see things from a higher perspective, I am seeing…

Just as a butterfly is able to see things from a higher perspective, I am seeing the world through the innocent eyes of the inner child as well as the wisdom of the adult.

As I continue on this spiritual healing journey, I am reminded to slow down and see the world through the curiosity and wonderment of the inner child, which allows me to collect treasures of love, peace, and acceptance as well as pearls of wisdom. One of the most significant gifts I hope to pass along through my art is to remember to enjoy the powerful transforming essence of play. Through play I think we are able to open up and allow the creative inspiration to flow through us. I think this famous quote by George Bernard Shaw sums it up, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”

I believe through the heart of the child within we are able to see the whole world as One. I will end with two of my favorite quotes by Pablo Picasso, "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." and "It takes a very long time to become young.”
