Christine Hansen's Profile

About

I’m Christine Hansen and I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a small child.

As I’ve grown older, I’ve learned many different media and techniques including lampwork, mixed media art, jewelry design, soapmaking, beadwork, ceramics, writing, and calligraphy.

My favorite medium is glass and my favorite technique is melting.

To me, glass is the perfect artistic medium: easy to shape when it’s hot, glass plays with light and color beautifully, and barring accidents, glass art endures long after the artist. About

I’m Christine Hansen and I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a small child.

To me, glass is the perfect artistic medium: easy to shape when it’s hot, glass plays with light and color beautifully, and barring accidents, glass art endures long after the artist. As a student, I am intensely in love with the subject – there is no way to know everything there is about glass, so I can study for the rest of my life and always learn something new.

My deepest passions are my family and friends, working with hot glass at my torch, and creating limited edition mixed media art charms.

I wrote the best-seller, Making Mixed Media Art Charms & Jewelry, with my dear friend, Peg Krzyzewski. Peg and I started the Art Charms Yahoo group for people who love mixed media art charms like we do - artists and collectors alike. We have ongoing swaps, contests, and a wonderful community of people. Please consider joining us!

Central to all of my work is my commitment to quality. Simply put, I'm picky. I want the best. And I want everything I create, from beads and charms to bracelets and beyond, to be the best it possibly can be.
