Dave's Profile

About

A child of the late 70s and 80s, I developed a passion for neon colors, Led Zeppelin and big hair. I love music, laughter, and cats - yeah, corny but it's true. I've been a carpenter since the early years, though now I work in an office environment. These days I use my wood-working skills on the weekends, renovating a 100-year old Craftsman bungalow by the beach.

My "Cave" has gradually filled over the years with clothes and goodies from my life. I hate to throw anything away, but I am also meticulously neat: Imagine Felix Unger as a pack rat. If this reference is unfamiliar to you, Google 'The Odd Couple' and you'll get it!

A couple of years ago, I met my soul mate Amy, and we have begun to combine the stuff of our lives. The Dave Cave on Etsy has been born of that process, as it seemed a great place to finally pass along a few of my favorite things to others who may enjoy them all over again. That being said, we also love prowling the thrift stores, so we will also feature some of our special finds from those expeditions.

The Dave Cave is just for guys, but take a look at our sister site, heartkeyologie.etsy.com - there you'll find all kinds of cool vintage household items and furnishings.

I credit my Mom for doing so much for me growing up, and helping me become who I am today. She was a dedicated single parent. It was she who coined the phrase I use on my shop banner: "What's the matter with you, boy?" That wonderful woman passed away in 2005... I dedicate this site to you Betty Jane!
