Enter my shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/thedreamygiraffeOnce upon a time, in a land far away, there lived a girl who couldn't draw well at all, no matter how hard she tried! She couldn't even draw a stick person! Well, at least, she believed that she couldn't. Now, in most fairy tales, this is the point where the damsel in distress meets a prince, who is usually quite charming. However, this particular distressed damsel did not meet a prince, because by this point in history princes were actually pretty much an endangered species, hard to come by, if not totally extinct. So instead she met a superhero, who'd recently had his portrait done by a real, true professional artist known only as The Zooman. This superhero took one look at our heroine's art (which she didn't think was art at all, just scribbles, really) and he told her that she COULD draw, stick people, and more. She could draw beautifully anything her heart desired."You're better than The Zooman!" he exclaimed. And then, you probably think, that they fell in love and rode off into the sunset together on his horse to live happily ever after. But, um, no, that's not what happened.Truth be told, the superhero was way too young for the no-longer-distressed damsel, so no falling in love happened. The superhero said farewell and went on continuing to save the world. And the girl who didn't think she could draw?Drew and drew and drew and drew…and, yes, she pretty much lived happily ever after!-------------------------------Hi! My name is KJ (which is short for Kathy Jeffords) and the girl who didn't think she could draw is loosely based on me. Once upon a time, I didn't think I could draw. And now I'm doing art for a living, because life is wonderfully strange and sometimes doors open that we didn't even realize were there. I also lovelovelove to write, so most of my paintings have stories to go along with them. Speaking of stories, the above one, though largely fictionalized is based on actual events: I did a painting for a fabulously sweet lady named Becky of her with her two kids. In the past, she'd had a caricature done of her children by a caricature artist at the zoo. Upon seeing my painting, her son exclaimed, "Wow, she's better than the zooman!" So, that's how I became, officially, "better than the zooman"!Thanks, Zach! And thanks, Etsy! And thank you, you fantastically dreamy person who took the time to read this!Love, KJSupplying the world with big eyed girls & their dreamy friends (about 82907987 of'em…and counting) since approximately 2005.- I have a second (closed) shop @ beforethegiraffe.etsy.com - where I used to put up some of my older pre-Dreamy art. - There's also my now closed shops thinkaboutrainbows.etsy.com and http://awesomealphas.etsy.com- And coming soon http://theprintablerabbit.etsy.com and http://ICanRelatePritnables.etsy.com
