About

I have been a professional costume designer for over fifteen years, I began designing costumes for television seven years ago, and have worked on numerous major motion pictures as a costume supervisor. If I know anything, I know fabric.

The only real problem with working in the movie-making business is that it is SO wasteful. I cringe when I think about how much is thrown away for every single second of a ninety minute movie. I made major changes in how I live my personal life to balance out all the waste in my professional life. And this included how I craft.

I make every effort to know the source of my materials. I support other businesses also trying to be sustainable. I celebrate all-natural fibers and vintage fabrics while making simple, beautiful things. I am a practitioner of the domestic arts. And at the end of the day, my handcrafts pay tribute the many crafty women that raised me and supported me every step of the way.

You can see my work in person every spring at the West Medford Open Studios in West Medford, Massachusetts.
