About

If you're wondering about the pic I'm using as an avatar - it's black contra luz opal from our mine, the Opal Negra, in Virgin Valley, NV.

Now, as to my bio . . . My name is Scott, my wife, Pat, and I own our own mine in Nevada. Purchased shortly after I retired from the merchant marine in 1997.

We spend the summer in Virgin Valley mining & selling from our shop. Because it's a seventy mile round trip to the post office we only ship once a week while there.

I've been wire wrapping gemstones for well over 30 years. It all started when I ran across my first piece in Port Townsend, WA. It was an antique circa 1830. The whole idea of cold connection jewelry fascinated me.

I've been wire wrapping gemstones for well over 30 years. It all started when I ran across my first piece in Port Townsend, WA. It was an antique circa 1830. The whole idea of cold connection jewelry fascinated me.

The distinctive bail you see on my work literally came to me in a dream about a year after I started wrapping. It's copyrighted, so, if you see a similar piece made by somebody else, it's an illegal copy of my work.

I am looking for a few good brick and mortar shops that want to handle my work. If you have a shop and you want to talk about wholesale pricing I'd love to hear from you. If not, I'd still like to hear from you anyway.

If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Virgin Valley feel free to drop by our mill-site, 2 miles south of the no-fee campground.

best wishes, Scott
