About

Hey there, My name is Megan, I am the creative behind The Little Piper. This little wonderland was created as an outlet for my creative whims and over active imagination.

First dreamt up in 2010, and named after my favourite childhood place in the world. I started out selling screen printed plush toys and vinyl stickers. But in 2012 I closed my shop so I could focus on being a first time mum to the most amazing little fellow.

Now that my little one isn’t so little, I have a little more free time! So I decided it was time to open up shop again, but with my focus being on greeting cards of a particular nature.

You may know them more commonly as greeting cards, although I prefer to think of them as tidings of endearment! There is a wide range in this little wonderland, usually containing a little swanky banter.

I love to create quirky pieces for the home and special little mementos for all occasions. I am inspired by the idea of offering a keepsake to someone special in your life, to keep long after the special moment has passed. For them to be able to hold something as they reminisce. I think that in itself is a very special gift.

Since reopening The Little Piper in early 2015, it has progressed to being an eco-conscious haven for tidings of a swanky nature, for every occasion! All of the "tidings" are designed by Megan and made in Tasmania, Australia.

My process usually starts when I get fixated on a certain idea and follow it to the end, the results are a few different cards that are quickly listed in my etsy store. I try to do most of the designing process when my little fellow goes to bed. In the morning, I package the orders and then we go for a walk to the local post office. My little helper loves to pop the parcels in the mail box. Then it's time for train rides and pillow forts in the afternoons.

When I am not creating new pieces for The Little Piper, I enjoy building pillow forts and doing creative projects with my son. I love seeing him discover the world, and he takes me on all kind of adventures.

My fiancé and I are happy snappers; and love taking photos of everything. We love going on adventures with the little fellow, to markets and picnics at the park.

My head is always buzzing, and I am constantly seeing new things in everyday life, that give me more ideas. I heard a saying that describes it best “Having a creative mind, is like having a million tabs open in your browser at once”

But when I am sitting at my desk with the music going, I can get lost in creating something and that is when the magic happens!

I do offer custom orders upon request, please contact me if you wish to discuss a custom order.
