Mary Johnson's Profile

About

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was ten. She was right-handed and I am left-handed. My work will look backward to most people. I have many memories of watching her crochet baby layettes while we watched television in the evenings. I have her patterns and use many of them for gifts that I still make.

I take great pride in every piece I design and produce. There is an elegance to the stitches as they come off the hook. Their symmetry intrigues me. I love creating something new and my hands can't work fast enough to keep up with my imagination.

Each of my pieces is produced in a smoke free environment
