Thanks for visiting my shop.

I've been crafting for years, but reached a point where jewelry designing had become my main focus some years ago (visit my jewelry shop at http://www.theresaj.etsy.com). I still need a diversion from my typical jewelry designing though, as my hands always need to be busy and my mind is always full of ideas and things I need to make! In this Etsy shop, you'll find needle felted items ceramic buttons, beads, pendants, dishs, etc., knit items, fun brass jewelry with graphics... perhaps some pressed flower items, and maybe even a little crazy quilting. At times I'll add a terrific vintage find that I think someone out there in cyberspace might like. As a creative person who is always exploring and making things, who knows what you'll find in this shop next year!

I grew up in San Francisco in the 60's and early 70's in a great neighborhood; lots of families mixed in with lots of bohemian artists/crafters whose doors -- or garages -- were always open to the kids in the neighborhood to watch, learn, and get involved. There were painters, a sculptor, a potter, a leather worker, wood workers, and jewelry makers, and I also learned to knit & crochet, macrame', sew, embroider, etc. My Mom made a lot of my clothes, my favorites being my Halloween costumes! Looking back, I realize how fortunate I was to grow up in such a creative and richly diverse environment, and I am grateful to all who took the time to share their expertise, as that is surely where my love of creating/making things began.

Expressing myself creatively keeps me sane, so to speak, allowing me to focus my attention away from the stress of day to day life. You could say it's my happy place! :)
