About

Welcome to the Wild Raspberry Boutique! I hope you can grab a cup of tea and cozy up a while, while you browse!

My name is Deborah Marie. Most folks call me Debbie, but my handsome husband, Superman, calls me Marie.

I am a Christian who loves the LORD, my family, antiquing, sewing, painting old things white, auctions, junking, primitives, sewing, all things vintage, cooking, teaching Bible class, decorating, running...and did I mention, sewing??!!

This little business started with three sisters and high hopes a few years ago. Sadly, our baby sister was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer, and life froze. We lived, breathed and fought cancer. We prayed, cried and tried our hardest, but after an almost two year battle, our sweet Shauna went on to be with Our Father in Heaven. We…

We miss her so much, and find ourselves struggling to keep going at times, but life does keep going. She wanted us to keep going. So, here I am working on my dream again. One sweet sister in Heaven waiting for me, and one here beside me, cheering me on.

We have learned through this journey, that often during trials we pray for ease rather than strength for the battle, and for this reason, many faithful Christians fall away. God does not mean for this life to be easy, but He will never leave us. He wants us to know that this life is not about this life. It's about the one to come.

So...Here I am...

Me.

Doing it.

Me...

actually working daily in and on this lovely little dream boutique, in this beautiful big old farmhouse that Superman and we built together, in this perfectly designed studio/sewing room surrounded by vintage mannequins, all things chippy and white, piles upon piles of vintage and new fabrics, rusty pieces of iron mongery hanging on my walls, old suitcases full of vintage lace and rik rak, vintage buttons, linens, burlaps and bright cotton prints of every color and design...wire baskets full of sewing patterns, and vintage wooden boxes full of sundry sewing notions, old iron bed frames leaning against the walls, all of these delightful things surrounding me, with my little felted wool birds peeking out at me from various nooks and crannies, calling to me and urging me to create something oh~so~lovely...and I do. And I LOVE it!

I dreamed of a shop where I made and sold unique, handmade goods created from soft vintage linens, burlap, cottons, muslin, and vintage laces for pillows, bags, handmade dresses, aprons, skirts and bloomers for babies, little girls and women, I wanted these soft creams, greys and whites to be part of my white barn collection.

Then, also, beautiful, bright colored pillowcase dresses, flowing, romantic skirts and bloomers and other sunshiny brilliant dresses in my red barn collection. Some things created from scratch, and some things beautifully upcylced and embelished from vintage or retro goods, creating repurposed , modest and romantic farmgirl~cottage~chic style boutique attire.

And I'm doing it! And it's a joy!

I also wanted to share unique vintage and antique finds that I've stumbled upon at old farm auctions, down country dirt roads, around bends and over hills, in these many lovely little Missouri farming communities and towns, long forgotten. Oh the treasures I've found in dusty cobwebby corners of creaky, beautifully greying old barns!!! From vintage wedding dresses to rusty farm equipment and old typewriters. If I simply don't have room for it, though I love it so, my little treasures will end up right here in my little shop!

My decorating style at home is a mixture of french farmhouse~meets~ shabby cottage chic~rusty junk~farmgirl~romantic~loving anything white. Repurpose, reclaim and reuse is my way of life.

Eclectic, but very satisfactory to my way of thinking and living...

and when it comes to sewing and creating, it's much of the same, all of these delicious feminine, vintage girly descriptors blend delightfully together to make some really lovely creations!

Like everything I try to do in life, from my Christianity, to my marriage, to my parenting...I try to put my best into all of my creating and my handmade items, whether it's bloomers or pillowcase dresses for a wee little punkin, or an apron for a momma that wants some kissing in the kitchen. Every garment, pillow, handsewn or handmade creation has a finished edge and is made to be durable. Many items have vintage material, lace or buttons incorporated into them.

Me? I love to inspire and be inspired, if you see something you love and you can make it, GOOD for you!

If you can't and it's something in your budget that is oh-so-you, or a perfect gift for a friend or loved one, happy shopping!

All of my orders are shipped beautifully wrapped and ready to give. If you would like your order shipped to another address, please specify at checkout.

I'm excited and hopeful! Enjoy!

Warmly,
Marie
