Rebecca Kitching's Profile

About

For eight years now I’ve been a jeweller, I started by completing a HND 3D design crafts course at York college with the intent of doing furniture design but soon discovered that it wasn’t for me, two years later trying every craft there is I found jewellery which started with forging and welding but found myself working smaller and smaller every week until I discovered jewellery. I then went on to complete a BA (Hons) in metalwork and jewellery at Sheffield Hallam University.
The weird and wonderful inspires me, small found objects, toys and also automata contraptions fill me with curiosity to explore and adapt them to become jewellery.
A healthy dose of humour is also very important to my work, I find the best thing about making jewellery is it’s so adaptable and fun and you can take it with you wherever you go.
