About

Creating things has always been a part of who I am. I love color. I love fabric and fibers. These long-time loves with a bit of serendipity led me to art quilting. The new possibilities and techniques are exciting and allow the combination of other interests (photography, collage, traditional quiltmaking, geometry, pattern, texture and beadwork) in my work.

I made my first art quilt as a baby gift - loving the process and creative freedom. Since then I have had the privilege of exhibiting in The National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY and have won awards in local and regional competitions.

I work primarily with cotton (batiks, hand-dyed, commercial prints) but also enjoy mixing things up. Silks, wools and even upholstery fabrics have been worked into my art. Handmade fabric, beads, buttons, ribbons, papers and limitless other embellishments make their appearances as well.

My background includes a Bachelor of Art degree in Studio Art focused in printmaking with special interests in photography and graphic design. Through the years, I have explored sewing, tailoring, traditional patchwork quilting and various hand needlearts and look forward to expanding my craft in the art quilting world.
