About

Welcome! I am "thredz" and artist/owner of MEWE Designs. This shop represents my unabashed love of crafting and creating.

My family is kinda nomadic--we seem to move every five years or so. We have had the great joy of living all over the US, and every place has been special for its awe-inspiring (and art-inspiring) natural beauty. From Winter Park, FL, to Prescott, AZ, to Western North Carolina, to Bar Harbor, Maine--such glorious spots with so much talent; one can't help but dive into the mix!

These places have turned me on to so many genres: Stencilling in Winter Park, stitching in WNC, stamping in Prescott, and clay, clay, clay (polymer, wet, paper). I love working with photos and paper; I collect ephemera and love using it.

About

I am a self-taught bead artist who specializes in hand-stitched bead work using Delica and other Japanese seed beads, pearls and crystals, exotic and gems, all mixed with sea-glass and the perfect stones I glean from Bar Harbor's beaches.

One of my happy-hoarding obsessions is collecting vintage fabric, lace, trims, and linens. From time to time, I will de-stash and let some of my treasures go, so my husband doesn't do the same to me...

Martha Stewart (magazine) taught me how to knit, and I spend many happy hours caressing my yarn--and occasionally even making something out of it! My knitted creations show up in my shop now and then, especially around the Winter Holidays.

My Etsy Shop is eclectic, but my happiness is in the single goal of making quality items and SATISFIED customers. Please come back often, you never know what's next (neither do I)!
