Tin Years is a concept that started out as a simple gesture of love for an anniversary gift, and is now a treasure hunt mixed with a fashion show. Taking antique and vintage tins originally made to hold sweets, teas, tobacco, and sometimes moth balls, and turning them into modern accessories is truly unique and brings life back into long forgotten items.
I have always loved to walk around antique malls, thrift stores, and vintage clothing shops looking at the various items long since discarded. And up until now, I never had a true purpose or reason to sift thru shops and shelves covered in 3 inches of dust and cobwebs. I can normally spot an antique tin from a mile away, and it only takes a few seconds to determine its true age. Helpful Hint: Don't buy anything with Coca-Cola or Budweiser on it, because it was probably made just a few month's ago and is definitely not vintage…
