Darrah Gooden's Profile

Darrah was born to a farmer and an artist, and raised in the piney woods of East Texas. Her mom taught art lessons in their home basement during the summer months, and her first memorable watercolor painting was of a delicate fawn.

In 2001 she earned a BFA degree with an emphasis in painting. Eight years later, when her firstborn son joined the family and his nursery walls were lacking, she dug deep to re-kindle her favorite childhood inspirations and Edie Fawn was created. Edie was soon followed by Omar Owl, Felix Fox, Linus Bear and a crew of other animals to form what is now called, Tiny Fawn.

Each print in the shop was originally crafted out of tissue paper. Translucent shapes were carefully cut and adhered to canvas, layering one sheer piece on top of another until tiny creatures and objects emerged…

She currently resides in Dallas with her husband and two small children, working out of her home studio.
