Tom Larkin's Profile

About

I grew up in NYC in an artistic home. I have always approached my woodwork with that in mind. I have worked building toys, furniture, carved doors and have built many of my own tools including machines.
One day in art school I overheard my teacher discuss carving with another student, "each facet is polished when the tool is sharp". That brief snippet of conversation has stayed with me for a long time and has become the bedrock of my woodworking style. First with a chisel, later with hand planes I worked hard to make each stroke polished, to make each stroke count.
