I spend a lot of my time attending art shows. This brings me all over Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. I take my inspirations from the scenery of these areas. Northern Minnesota is abundant with wildlife. It is not unusual to see a bear crossing the road. Eagles soar over the 10,000 lakes this area is famous for. The forest is dense with pine and birch trees. I take little pieces of the scenery and create the works you see here in my shop. The inspiration for the barn pieces comes from the area I live in now. Litchfield is in southern Minnesota. You can't drive more than 5 miles without coming across a barn. They scatter the open gently rolling countryside. My frames are constructed from their weathered wood. Each barn has its own story. White is one of the more common colors my frames are constructed from. Many of the landscapes you see here are painted in Winter. This is our longest season here in Minnesota. We will see snow as early…
