Susan's Profile

About

I live in a cozy 1925 cottage in the seaside village of Rowayton, CT with my husband, John, and two grown children. I work (and play) in my home studio: a colorful, happy oasis brimming with all of my favorite things. From a cheerful medley of 1950s picnic tins to the charm of a floral tablecloth, I am inspired by all things vintage. I spend my days finding and repurposing antiques, making/selling items on Etsy, writing/styling articles for magazines, and updating my blog and Instagram feed.

I was born in Cleveland, OH to immigrant parents. I always loved to create things, so I become a graphic designer when I grew up. I worked for several firms in NYC before founding my own design company in 1987. However, after 24 years, I yearned to try something new. I was born in Cleveland, OH to immigrant parents. I always loved to create things, so I become a graphic designer when I grew up. I worked for several firms in NYC before founding my own design company in 1987. However, after 24 years, I yearned to try something new. Collecting and selling antiques had long been my passion and I dreamed of having a shop of my own. So, in 2003 T-Party Antiques and Tea Room opened its doors in an 1890 farmhouse in Darien, CT. For five memorable years, I provided my loyal patrons with afternoon tea as well as an array of vintage wares.

Today, the T-Party spirit lives on and serves as inspiration for the handmade and vintage goods I sell here on Etsy. I suppose I will always be a designer at heart, and my unique sense of style infuses the creative projects I continue to pursue.
