About

I have always been a maker. When I was tiny I dreamed of colour every day and lost myself for hours in scraps of fabric, turning them into glamorous daywear and exceptional eveningwear for my dolls.

I've grown up and transformed into a bowerbird who happily works with just about any material I can find – paper, metal, textile - but it's the colours and textures of vintage fabrics that call to me for the moment, and I can't get enough of them. Brocades, paisleys, velvets and linens from the mid-century and beyond – they’re beautiful, and my personal mission is to get them out of the dark cupboards and hidden spaces where they've been languishing for too many years; I want to get them onto people’s couches and draped around living bodies where they belong.

Anything and everything is a possible source of inspiration - art history, nature, the creativity of others; but especially I love those small moments of beauty we can all find in the everyday, if only we take the time to stop and look.

Everything you see in this shop is designed and handmade by me, in my little solar-powered weatherboard cottage in rural Australia, where I live with my partner and our three children.

I'm a bit of a social monkey and you can find me in lots of places around the internet, especially the ones that cater for visual junkies like me.

I also write as well as make, because I have something to say about the value of beauty in our lives. It's important.
