About

I was born in Lima, Ohio, and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico when I was about nine. There is no place like New Mexco. With it's beautiful landscape and fresh air. I live with my husband and three dogs. My husband and I, together, have had 5 dogs and a cat. As you can tell, we love animals and believe they are truly members of our family. I use all six of our animals in my cards, three who have since passed on. They are such an important part of our lives, and want to share them with you.
I got Sam at 3 months from a local shelter. She had been in another town, and wasn't being adopted, so they brought her to Santa Fe, and luckily I found her! She died in 2008, and I'm still trying to get over her. She was the sweetest, best behaved dog, ever. I got Oliver, our cat, a few years after Sam. Also from the local shelter. He was a cat who thought he was a dog. He died in 2010. He and Sam were "buds". Then we got…

Then we got Max, our Doberman, from a local litter. He got along beautifully with Sam and Oliver. Actually he found us. There were about 6 puppies in the litter, and he kept coming back to us. He had a dirt spot on his belly, so we knew it was him! When Sam died, we got Spencer. Max needed a brother. Those two were the best of friends. Sadly, Max died on March 1, 2012 of Cancer. We had his leg amputated, where the Cancer started, hoping to catch it all. The vet gave him 3 months, and he lasted 5, and was around for Christmas. Which I couldn't have been happier. I couldn't imagine Christmas without Max. It hasn't been that long, since he passed away, and we're still feeling the pain.
Spencer was a rescue dog, and we adopted him when he was about 2 months old. He's a Boxer/Schnauzer mix. We found out after we adopted him, that someone else had adopted him, and took him back the next day! He was sick, but we got him anyway. I love Spencer, and so glad we ended up with him. He's a character! Nothing bothers him! Except for maybe MacKenna, our second Doberman. We got her, also, from a local litter, at about 7 weeks old, and she loves to harrass Spencer! But Spence puts her in her place. We last , but not least, got Cleo. I found her outside my home, at about 6 weeks old, on top of an old stool, with her leg caught on one of the steps. It wasn't that traumatic, but she was howling like a baby! Couldn't find where she came from, so, of course, we kept her! When my husband and I got married, we had Max and Sam in the wedding. Of course, we wouldn't have had it any other way!

My husband and I both like gardening, antiques, spending time with our dogs, and riding our Harley. I like to, of course, make my cards, make handcrafted soap, reading on my Kindle, and working on my family tree. My husband is great with woodworking, and has now opened his own shop "SantaFeSon" making handmade crucifixes. We both, also, have a forty hour a week job, so our hobbies take up most of our spare time.
I'm not sure how I got into making greeting cards! I made a few at home for friends and family, and they really liked them. I kept coming up with captions and ideas, and it just flowed from there. I realize they still need some work, but I think they're fairly good for being handmade. And I loved having Spencer as a subject. His personality is so low keyed and just enjoys life, and if he's scolded, he gets this look like, "take a chill pill". I then started coming up with ideas for the other "loves" of our lives, and the rest is history!
When my husband and I got married, I had an idea for my wedding invitations, and I was VERY sure of what I wanted. Of course then, I worked with a card shop, but after 5 hours, we came up with exactly how I wanted them! And I got SO many compliments on them. They came out beautiful.

I also, have another shop, selling Vintage items, "LivinMom'sDream", which I'm following my mom's footsteps, with her love of antiques and collectibles.

I hope you enjoy my cards as much as I enjoyed making them!
