Sparkle! Shimmer! Glimmer! Gleam!

Yes! Life does sparkle and shimmer and glimmer and gleam! And I love it! Whether I'm making art, working with fabric, paper, ink and vintage findings - or working on a theater piece - or sewing like an ecstatic dervish on a new art quilt - I'm always attracted to what shimmers just out of sight...the ghosts of sparkle and the rich dignity of decayed splendor.

I love vintage images and antique books. I love to find enchanting items from turn-of-the-century Paris and funky trash from mid-century Hollywood. I love vintage papers and ephemera and I love making art paper of my own using a variety of antiques and products and techniques. But most of all, I love taking these items and assembling them together to create work which speaks to the heart and to the eye. I strive for strong…

Sparkle! Shimmer! Glimmer! Gleam!

I strive for strong construction and reliable finishes so that once an item I've made gets to you, it remains a keepsake for a good long time, perhaps becoming an heirloom you'll wish to pass along.

I'm an ex theater director (and sometime-actor), who has traversed to the world of visual arts via an almost accidental career in art quilting. Although I still make the occasional art quilt, I am immersed in mixed media collage, assemblage, paper art, and vintage treasures which I can both alter and use as altering embellishments. All items sold here are made by me, by hand, and while you may see a common element or two, all items are one-of-a-kind.

If you find yourself inspired to propose a custom order, please use the Contact page to tell me what you have in mind. I'm happy to consider any custom order if the project and timing is right. I very truly appreciate your interest and consideration.
