About

Hi! My name is Lisa Millar and I am the creator of Home Seed Home, Custom Birdseed Designs where you will find a variety of birdhouses and garden art made from natural materials. My birdhouses are all started from wooden birdhouses and then creatively designed with various seeds like sunflower seeds, safflower, thistle, black oil sunflower, corn, standard birdseed, dried cranberries, millet and much more.

I originally started making birdhouses to feed the birds, but I kept hearing from my customers, "It's too pretty to put outside." So, I decided that I'll design both edible for the birds to enjoy and non-edible (coated with layers of varnish) for you to enjoy in your home or garden.

I came upon the idea when my father was taking birdhouses and slathering them with peanut butter and slapping on a bunch of seed. They were so cute just like that, but I decided to take it a step further. Okay, okay.......a few steps further.

I absolutely LOVE creating my birdhouses and a lot of time, energy and love goes into each and every one of them - everything from preparing, selections of seeds and materials, application of all the tiny seeds- (total therapy part) which I use tweezers and other tools to literally apply.... many hours and sometimes days go into the creating of a birdhouse, down to the coating of non-edible ones and finally packaging. I try to make each one that I design unique and different from the last.

You may notice two birdhouses of the same size and shape but with different prices. This is due to the fact that one may have more embellishments then the other or one may have taken more time working on.

These birdhouses will look beautiful in any backyard or garden and are perfect for people who love to watch birds. They make great gifts for birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day and the holidays. Best of all, if you think they are too pretty to put outside for the birds to devour, you can display them in your home for you to enjoy.

I hope you enjoy my birdhouses.
